ARCHITECTURE
ARCHITECTURE AS COMMUNICATION
Maria Diamandieva
Abstract: The conclusions of this report are based on the initial perception of architecture as a system of communication, aiming at interpolation of similar rules for efficiency and harmony, suggesting universal screening criteria of value of the artistic product. The proposed model – matrix of communication in architecture could serve as a starting form in design approaches and analytical searches within the pluralistic boundless field of modern architectural projects, offering possible equivalent options in the absence of valid criteria for artistic quality. The report argues that such an analytical perspective provides one of the few possibilities of reconciliation of the eternal opposition form/content, conceptualizing them as the two complementary sides of the same communicative indivisible whole.
